Set the low and high boundaries for each vital. When a patient's reading crosses a threshold, an alert is generated at the configured severity level. Only enable vitals that your organization monitors.

  • SMS — Text message to provider's mobile
  • Email — Email to provider inbox
  • In-App — Alert appears in Nexus portal
  • Push — Mobile app push notification

Escalation rules fire when an alert is not acknowledged within the configured time window. The alert is then sent to the next level of clinical authority. Enable only the levels appropriate for your workflow.

  • Set Critical thresholds conservatively to reduce alert fatigue
  • Ensure at least one channel is enabled per provider
  • Review escalation settings quarterly
  • Test notification delivery after making changes
